Lizzie Sider, the fourteen year old singer-songwriter balancing her high school and musical career, spreads her wings on a smashing, autobiographical debut, Butterfly. Penned by Lizzie, 2x #1 singer/songwriter Jamie O’Neal, Jimmy Murphy and Lisa Drew (There Is No Arizona), Butterfly is a track that parallels Lizzie’s current journey to country music as songwriting served as her escape from being teased and humiliated in elementary school.
“Scribbling down lyrics and playing the piano became an escape to a happier and safer place when I was being teased and not accepted,” says Lizzie. “Now, I can’t even explain how much fun we had working on this album. Getting to write with Jamie, Liz, Lisa, Jimmy, Keith and Adrienne was such a learning experience.”
Butterfly is track 5 on CDX #555 and can also be downloaded on PLAY MPE. The in-studio video is currently available on GAC TV and in rotation on The Country Network (TCN).
Lizzie’s luminescent lyrics and infectious spirit has donned stages with Jamie O’Neal and Aaron Tippin. Proving that she can find a home among a variety of audiences, Lizzie has performed around the states at malls, rodeos, corporate conventions, charities, hospitals, county fairs and even headlined showcases during NYC fashion week. She has also hosted two episodes of Breaking Out, TCN’s show highlighting up-and-coming country artists. Lizzie’s tour schedule for the remainder of 2012 finds her opening for Big & Rich in November and dates throughout the southeast. Her debut EP includes co-writes with the aforementioned Jamie O’Neal and Jimmy Murphy alongside Liz Rose (Teardrops on My Guitar, Tim McGraw, White Horse), Keith Follese (The Way You Love Me-Faith Hill, I Love You-Martina McBride) and Adrienne Follese (A Good Man, I Love You-Martina McBride).
