Best known for her impassioned vocals on the Rolling Stones’ hit: “GIMME SHELTER”..Merry Clayton’s vocals have also graced albums by such iconic artists as Joe Cocker, Bob Dylan, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Carole King, Neil Young, Diana Ross, Tom Jones, Etta James and Leon Russell, just to name a few. Merry’s solo recordings include three outstanding albums and numerous singles produced by legendary producer Lou Adler on Ode Records She enjoyed several R&B hits including ‘AFTER ALL THIS TIME’ (1971) and ‘OH NO NOT NY BABY’ (1973) for which se received a Grammy nomination. (Merry also appeared around this same time in the rock opera “Tommy” as the original Acid Queen along side rock legends ‘The Who, and the London Symphony Orchestra.)
THE WELL’S RUN DRY‘ is Merry’s debut radio release in collaboration with renowned saxophone virtuoso/producer iReedMan, from their EP entitled ‘Don’t Burn The Bridge” iReedMan, has his own long list of CREDITS, not the least of which is his current gig on ‘DANCING WITH THE STARS,’ where the horn section has attracted it’s own loyal fan club!
