About Us
I began Humboldt BOtanicals, in 2007, in my “kitchen”, creating my own botanical oil blends for my own skin, as I have always had “trouble” with my own skin. I have always been the natural type, never wearing foundation on my face, my mom is the makeup artist in our family. I, in turn, am the healer, educator in our family, not only as a registered nurse but for creating blends of organic & natural botanical oils & butters that have healing, rejuvenating, & anti-inflammatory properties. I love that I am able to present to my clients pure products that are natural & organic with no water, fillers, parabens, petroleum & a natural SPF. My first clients were, of course, myself, family, co-workers, & friends. Humboldt BOtanical’s Topical Nutrient Serum was a success, receiving excellent reviews, from healing skin conditions that “nothing else would”, to providing pain relief to chronic conditions, joint pain, arthritis, & women telling me testimonials about receiving positive compliments on their skin. Humboldt BOtanicals officially started in 2008.
I am now concentrating on my business, taking the needed time to be the owner, manager, promoter, educator, blender & bottler, graphic designer. Slowly but surely I am healing the world! I graduated in 1992 & had the opportunity to work in a variety of departments. Most of my career was in the obstetrics dept. I was a part of many, many joyful experiences.
My life ,as in all lives has had wonderful times & such horrible times you never want to see again. I wanted to share with you the story behind my company’s name, Humboldt BOtanicals. I am a mother of two boys, BO & Zack. My first son, BO, had an unfortunate biking accident at the young age of 15 that took his life. My life will never be the same. I miss him so much. In honor of him, I choose to capitalize the first two letters of botanicals, BO. His memory lives, the love for him always in my heart & I see his name all the time. I love that I could do that, receiving a registered trademark too.
My younger son, Zack is now 26 years old and I have a granddaughter, Wayah Bo, born in 2010. Life is wonderful & seems to fly by. We must never forget to be grateful everyday for the time we have with those we love.
I moved up to Humboldt County in 1976 from the East Bay Area, where I still live with my dear husband Lewis & our dog, Emma. Together we have six awesome children, including BO, & six beautiful grandchildren. Our joys.
