Lizzie Sider, the teen singer songwriter who has been selected by CMA as an ‘Artist to Watch” in 2013, will hit stages throughout Music City this month in promotion of her debut single, Butterfly. Lizzie, who is the latest advocate for the Global Women’s Empowerment Network (GWEN), felt it was important to share her personal story of adversity during her elementary school period and how that was channeled into her passion for music. “Scribbling down lyrics and playing the piano became an escape to a happier and safer place when I was being teased and not accepted,” says Lizzie. “Now, I can’t even explain how much fun we had working on this album.”

Penned by Lizzie and 2x #1 singer/songwriter Jamie O’Neal, Jimmy Murphy and Lisa Drew (There Is No Arizona), Butterfly is a track that parallels Lizzie’s current journey to country music as songwriting served as her escape from being teased and humiliated in elementary school. The video is also currently in rotation on TCN (The Country Network) and is available on CMT.com and GACTV.com.
Proving that she can find a home among a variety of audiences, Lizzie is performing around the states at malls, rodeos, corporate conventions, charities, hospitals, county fairs and even headlined showcases during NYC fashion week. She has also hosted two episodes of Breaking Out, TCN’s show highlighting up-and-coming country artists.
Getting the New Year started right, Lizzie has been selected by CMA as one of the “Artists to Watch” in 2013 and will be featured in their February/March issue of CMA Close Up. Her forthcoming debut album is produced by Joe Vulpis (Lady Gaga) and is being mastered by Tom Coyne (Red-Taylor Swift).
